Help Us Find Our Community Heroes!
"HEROES AMONG US"
We are pleased to announce the 2015 Mar Vista Community Fall Festival and Silent Auction will take place on
Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
at the Mar Vista Recreation Center
Sponsored by the Mar Vista Community Council, Councilmember Mike Bonin, and community members, the Planning Committeewould again like to invite you to participate in this year's event.
With our theme of “Heroes Among Us” we hope to inspire everyone to find ways to be an everyday hero to their community, neighbors, and family.
And in conjunction with our Theme, we are reaching out to the community and inviting everyone to take a few minutes and help us celebrate the many Heroes Among Us in the Mar Vista community. We'd like to find out who you think are the true heroes in our neighborhood. These are the people who are finding their own ways to make our community better, both big and small---by helping a neighbor, by helping the young and old in our midst who find themselves in need of assistance, by helping at schools, at churches, on our streets, and in our homes, to make someone's life better.
Please send us an email at email@example.com and let us know the name of your neighborhood hero, and, in 75 words or less, the reason why you are suggesting their name (if possible, please submit a photo with the email). We will publish these names in our Festival Program, and on our Festival Blogpage. We hope to feature a display of 'Heroes Among Us' on the auditorium wall at our Silent Auction on the day of the Festival.
The Planning Committee would like to encourage all who can to actively participate in the Festival, either as a Festival Partner, a Sponsor, a Booth Vendor, or a Silent Auction donor. Attached is the paperwork that describes in more detail how such participation will work, and contains the agreement to be filled out by participants.
