MVCC 2010 ELECTION STAKEHOLDER SURVEY RESULTS
Sunday, April 11th 2010

319 Ballot Cards were filled out.  All cards were counted successfully by Scrantron.

The City of L.A. is in a financial crisis, and is looking for ways to reduce its budget deficit. To assist in this process police and fire department budgets should be:
 (20) increased
 (192) maintained at current levels
 (58) reduced slightly
 (33) reduced equally to other departments.

In response to concerns about noise and air pollution, Santa Monica Airport should:
 (38) be closed down
 (183) more greatly restrict the size of aircraft using it
 (21) do more studies of the impacts at this time
 (23) be left alone; no action is needed now
 (38) be supported by the community, as the Airport provides important
services and functions for everyone.

To best control, or reduce traffic and speeders on our neighborhood streets, we need:
 (49) more speed humps
 (37) more stop signs
 (16) more cameras
 (29) more police
 (55) all of the preceding
 (57) both (10) and (11)
 (63) none of these

The volunteer Mar Vista Community Council could better represent and improve our community if it:
 (97) received more city money
 (157) were allowed to raise donations
 (24) operated without money.

The Mar Vista Farmers Market could be most improved if it:
 (58) had regular arts & craft vendors
 (100) had more fruit & vegetable vendors
 (17) had more prepared food vendors
 (91) had more parking

The pool at Mar Vista Park should be:
 (126) heated & upgraded for usage more of the year
 (8) closed down and the land put to better use
 (148) left as a summer facility.

Should there be restricted height limits on new buildings along major highways in Mar Vista?

Digital billboards should:
 (167) be banned citywide

Mar Vista has a goal of achieving 100% clean electricity by 2018.  Please tell us if you:

 (34) do not intend to sign up for Green Power with the LADWP

To ensure better traffic flow, we need:

Developers should be required to:
 (87) adhere to current  city regulations regarding parking spaces

of nearby residential streets

less and use mass transit instead

The Exposition Light Rail Line will have a station at Sepulveda/Exposition, which should be:

The increase in utility rates for L.A. to pursue cleaner/alternative energy infrastructure is:

 (82) yes, it is a crime and may lead to identify theft
