Free H1N1 Vaccinations at the Mar Vista Farmers Market  No appointment necessary. First come, first served. Open to everyone except those with contraindications to the vaccine (such as severe egg allergy or history of Guillain Barre Syndrome). This free H1N1 vaccine clinic by the LA County Health Department is hosted by the Mar Vista Community Council. Stop by our community outreach booth Sunday 31st. (www.flueshotla.com)

MVCC Board of Director Filing Deadline- The City of Los Angeles Elections Division, in conjunction with the Mar Vista Community Council, will hold elections for all 13 seats on the MVCC Board of Directors on Sunday, April 11, 2010 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Candidate Filing Period will commence on Monday January 11, 2010 and close on Wednesday, February 10, 2010. The seats to be elected are: One (1) Community Director; Six (6) At-Large Directors; and Six (6) Zone Directors. Candidate filing deadline is Wednesday, February 10, 2010. BudgetLA will be meeting three times in the upcoming days, starting with Saturday, January 30 at 10 am, then Saturday, February 13 at 10 am, then again on Saturday, February 27 at 10 am. All meetings will take place at the Hollywood City Hall, 6501 Fountain Ave., Hollywood 90028. BudgetLA supports the activities of several neighborhood council groups, all working together to pursue solutions to LA's Budget Crisis. Participants include the members of the Los Angeles Neighborhood Council Coalition, the Saving Los Angeles project, the Valley Alliance of Neighborhood Councils, the Mayor's Budget Advisory Committee and representatives from neighborhood councils throughout the city.
