The Mar Vista Community Council Education, Arts, & Culture Committee is a gathering of diverse community stakeholders dedicated to improving our entire community's quality of life by enhancing education, culture and the arts in and around Mar Vista.

The committee welcomes all stakeholders and normally meets the first Sunday of each month at the Mar Vista Farmer's Market (Map). You'll find us adjacent to the MVCC tent.

Parents made their voices heard at Education Summit

On May 28, nearly 100 Mar Vista and Venice community members came out to an Education Summit to voice their anger about the cuts to education, demand answers from LAUSD leaders, and to find out what they could do to make real changes.  A fantastic panel - including Marlene Canter, the outgoing school board member for the area, Steve Zimmer, the incoming school board member, Michelle King,
