NOTICE OF Mar Vista Bi-Monthly LADOT/CD11/LAPD Traffic Committee Meeting
The next Mar Vista Bi-Monthly LADOT/CD11/LAPD Traffic Committee meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Council District 11 West Los Angeles Office, 1645 Corinth Ave., in Room 201.
As always, the purpose is to find solutions to neighborhood traffic and safety issues. However, some changes in the structure and operation of the Committee and the meeting procedure were necessitated by City of Los Angeles 2010-2011 budget cuts, which severely reduced staffing at LADOT District Offices and eliminated some DOT services. As a result, these meetings are now closed to the public and attended only by the four Committee members: representatives from LADOT, CD11 and LAPD, and the MVCC liaison chairperson.
All LADOT items are presented first on the Agenda. After discussion and/or resolution of the LADOT items, the LADOT representative may be excused, and the meeting will then continue with Agenda items for consideration by the remaining Committee members. The Minutes of the meeting will be posted on the Committee’s website about a week after the meeting.
The Agenda for the January 17th meeting is not complete at this time, but it will include any unresolved matters continued from the Committee’s previous meeting on November 20, 2017, plus any new items received prior to the closing of the Agenda for this meeting. The final Agenda will close on Wednesday, January 10th and will then be posted on the Committee’s website, at www.marvista.org.
This is your opportunity to help solve traffic-related problems and safety issues in your neighborhood. If you have concerns you want placed on the Agenda, please e-mail complete details to Committee Chair Linda Guagliano, [email protected], by 12:00 noon on Wednesday, January 10th so the item(s) can be included and posted on the final Agenda for the meeting. Be sure to include your full name, address and phone number. Requests received after the Agenda is closed may be re-submitted to be heard at the next scheduled meeting on March 21, 2018.
This special meeting is now confirmed and the agenda been finalized as of Saturday January 13, 2018. The board will only consider items that are particularly time sensitive.

FRONTLINE follows renowned New Yorker writer and Boston surgeon Atul Gawande as he explores the relationships doctors have with patients who are nearing the end of life. In conjunction with Gawande’s new book, Being Mortal, the film investigates the practice of caring for the dying, and shows how doctors — himself included — are often remarkably untrained, ill-suited and uncomfortable talking about chronic illness and death with their patients.
